Why the name D3?
The name D3 expresses the vision of the harmonious development of man, his spiritual, mental and physical dimensions. As one of the founders, Milan Číčel, put it: “When we walk through the city, architecture indicates to us who man is. Fields, factories and restaurants indicate that man has physical needs. Schools, theatres and museums indicate that man has mental needs. And churches, that he also has spiritual needs. The hunger for physical, mental and spiritual needs

History of D3
Občianske združenie D3 bolo zaregistrované v júli 1990. Okruh priateľov a podporovateľov D3 vtedy tvorilo asi 80 ľudí, ktorí sa ešte pred revolúciou zúčastňovali programov osobného rozvoja založených na kresťanských biblických princípoch. Zakladajúcimi členmi sa stali Milan Číčel (predseda združenia), Daniel Raus a František Ciesar. Ešte predtým (od roku 1975) spolupracovali ľudia z prostredia D3 s medzinárodnou ekumenickou organizáciou Navigátori. Jeden z jej prvých vedúcich, ktorý cestoval do Československa, Paul Stanley, zhrnul prístup Navigátorov v čase, keď sa vo svete len začali rozvíjať metodiky mentoringu a koučingu, v knihe Connecting: The Mentoring Relationships You Need to Succeed in Life (Spiritual Formation Study Guides).
D3 stálo pri zrode viacerých organizácií. Príkladom je Nadácia Integra, ktorú v roku 1992 založili členovia D3 tímu Milan Číčel a Allan Bussard ešte v predchádzajúcom sídle D3 na Palisádach 11 v Bratislave. Zamerali ju na podporu malého podnikania, ktoré by vyjadrovalo D3 hodnoty. V čase, keď slovo podnikateľ bolo vnímané skôr negatívne, bolo cieľom pomôcť rozbehnúť “ostrovy integrity” cez vzdelávanie, program mikro-pôžičiek začínajúcim podnikateľom, koučing a mentoring. Neskôr sa program venoval ohrozeným skupinám ľudí a nakoniec sa Nadácia Integra pod vedením Allana Bussarda zamerala na rozvojovú a humanitárnu pomoc. Program v Afrike - “business solutions for poverty” umožňuje ľuďom dostať sa von z chudoby cez vzdelanie a zamestnanie.

What is D3 doing today?
To support families and individuals, D3 organizes an annual summer retreat , where, in addition to a community vacation in nature, there is an opportunity to meet inspiring people and engage in interesting and current topics. To support personal development, D3 organizes several times a year
one-day educational seminars on basic issues of life in work, family and society. Throughout the year, D3 mentors support individuals and teams from various, mostly non-profit organizations, which strive for positive changes in the environments where they operate. An example is the mentoring program of the civic association Návrata , which supports foster families and families at risk. An example of a partnership in the field of education is the publishing house Porta Libri .

An example of long-term cooperation
At D3, we strive to provide long-term support to individuals and organizations. We are pleased to have been working with the CSLewisa School Association for over 20 years, which includes the Narnia Elementary Schools in Bratislava, Pezinok, Trnava and Levice and the CSLewisa Bilingual Gymnasium. In addition to the mentoring system for leaders and teachers, D3 has helped to create and improve the system of individual and group personal development programs for students and members of the Baraka community.
