Recently, we have been faced with many issues that are the subject of passionate and often controversial discourse both in the church and in wider society. There are many examples: the position of women in society, the protection of life, homosexuality, or the current refugee crisis. Proponents of completely opposite views often defend their positions in the name of true Christian values, and the Bible is often cited. How to seek biblical answers to difficult questions? Pavol Hošek's seminar does not provide answers to specific examples of current topics. Pavol and I rather ask ourselves questions of deeper methodology: How should a person who has not resigned himself to the belief that the Bible can offer answers even to the complicated challenges of today read the Bible today?
