Mentoringový program pre organizácie a jednotlivcov

We believe that mentoring is important for human growth and the path to maturity. We believe that mentoring is especially important for adolescents who are facing their own decisions and existential questions for the first time. We realized that mentoring can complement the classic form of education well, so we helped to introduce and support a mentoring program at the CSLewisa Bilingual Gymnasium. Thanks to mentoring, it is possible for every student at school to have at least one person who knows them and wants to solve their life with them. This tool also changes the way teachers see students – it helps them perceive them more against the background of their story.

Summer stay D3

For more than 30 years, we have been organizing an annual summer stay for a diverse group of 100-150 people. In the mornings and evenings, we have an organized program for adults and children. Afternoons are reserved for sports, family trips, and sitting on the terrace with coffee. Every year we focus on a different topic - e.g. Future, Community, Evil, Profession, or The Beauty of Uncertainty. Interesting guests such as Daniel Pastirčák, Pavol Hošek, Saša Flek introduce us to the topic. You can also watch several lectures and discussions from previous years in the Library section, or on the D3 Youtube channel .

Baraka

Rezidenčná komunita Baraka

Baraka is a diverse group of people – students, alumni and teachers – who share a common interest in developing themselves and their school and are attracted by the idea of a community experience. Being a member of the community means ten months of living, working and growing together through concrete projects and relationships. The concept is based on our belief that living in a community helps us become more whole, solid, real and human (and thus respond to the four challenges of liquid modernity, as defined by sociologist Zygmunt Bauman). In Hebrew, Arabic and Swahili, “baraka” means “blessing.” The community aspires to be a blessing to its members and the wider environment.

Baraka is a joint project of D3 and CSLewisa Bilingual High School .

Non-formal education

We believe that informal education is just as important as formal education at school. For 15 years we have been organizing groups for high school students focused on self-discovery and personal growth. Groups of 10-15 teenagers meet every week for 2-3 years. They think and talk about life and spend time together. It's something like scout groups, only you don't necessarily have to like nature :).

Religion and Ethics Program for High Schools

In Slovak schools, students often choose whether to take the subject “Ethics” or the subject “Religion”. We believe that such a division into two subjects is artificial, since ethics cannot be separated from religion and vice versa. We therefore helped create the program of the subject “Religion and Ethics”, the pillars of which were dialogue, safe space and openness. We believe that every student has a story behind them that completes how they look at the world and how they behave in it. The subject “Religion and Ethics” takes this story into account, creates a space where students can bring their story and share it with others. The aim of this subject is to create a safe space in which students could openly talk about topics that bother them, that they are thinking about, or topics that they cannot open up in another forum. We learn to talk to each other, to listen, not to judge, but to understand and accept each other. We are trying to teach that in times of polarization, it is important to build bridges, not dig trenches.
